The main novelty of the piece is that it brings in voices ,supposedly from high-level FDA and CDC employees, making concrete statements about the politicization of the agencies’ recent decisions to approve COVID boosters. Unfortunately, almost all of the citations are anonymous, which significantly reduces their value.
At some level, when one signs up for a police job, one is explicitly taking on the responsibility to protect the public, even at the cost of one’s own life. Similarly, when one signs up for a public health job, one is explicitly taking on the responsibility to protect the public health, even at the cost of one’s own job.
I don’t minimize the amount of true heroism needed, in both cases, to fulfill the ethical mandates of the job, and, indeed, I’m not sure that I would have that level of fortitude myself … but I would probably also not take these jobs otherwise.

A great piece by Marty Makary and Tracy Beth Høeg on the politicization of the FDA and CDC (courtesy of Bari Weiss’s substack): U.S. Public Health Agencies Aren't ‘Following the Science,’ Officials Say.
